Drainfield and Leach Field Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Bangor
The drainfield is where treated effluent from the tank soaks back into the soil, and it is the part of a septic system most likely to fail when it is undersized. Theilluum builds gravel trench fields and plastic leaching chamber systems for Bangor homes, sized from the perc rate so effluent disperses without surfacing. On slow soils or a high water table near Fairmount, we build engineered mound and pressure dosed fields instead so the required separation to groundwater is met.
Why the Perc Rate Drives Everything
A drainfield cannot be guessed. The perc test tells us how many square feet of trench the soil needs to absorb a day of flow, and building smaller than that number is what leads to a soggy yard and backups indoors. We size the field to the test, not to the space you wish you had, and we spread the load evenly through a sound distribution box.
Our Process
We confirm the perc results and lay out the trenches or chambers on the approved footprint. We install the perforated PVC distribution pipe over washed drainfield gravel or set gravelless chambers, wrap the run in non woven geotextile fabric, and tie it to the D-box. After inspection, we backfill with the right soil cover, grade, and seed.
